Delete your Tengo account
This page explains how to delete your account in Tengo: Fridge & Pantry, the app by LEL LLC on the App Store and Google Play. You don't need the app installed to do it.
In the app
- Open Tengo and go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Read what happens, tick the confirmation and choose Delete my account.
On the web
- Sign in with the same account you use in the app.
- On Delete your account, tick the confirmation and choose Request account deletion.
Can't sign in? Reset your password first. If that doesn't work, write to support@tengoai.app from the email address on the account and we'll help.
What happens
- Every device is signed out straight away, and the account can't be signed in to again.
- The deletion runs in the background and finishes within 7 days. The page shows the date it is due by. It can't be undone.
- Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel Tengo Plus in the App Store or Google Play.
What is deleted
- Your account: name, email address, password, sign-in sessions and devices, and two-step verification.
- Kitchens where you are the only member, with everything in them.
- Your private places and private food, your remembered allergens and staples, your choices and settings, your push tokens, your support requests, unfinished AI suggestions, photos and data exports.
What is kept, and for how long
- Food you shared in a kitchen with other members stays with that kitchen, because it belongs to them too. Your name is removed from its history. If you were its only admin, a remaining member becomes admin.
- Subscription records are kept without your account linked to them, for as long as accounting and tax law requires.
- Backups are overwritten within 35 days. Server logs are deleted after 30 days, and security records after up to 90 days.
- Photos sent for AI reading are already deleted 24 hours after upload.
